Overview: This course is intended to teach users about the useful tools, features, and options available in the NX Sheet Metal application. Users will learn how to set up preferences and defaults including thickness, material and the all-important K-factor. Only certain commands are available to start a sheet metal model. These commands and what procedure to follow will also be discussed. Once a model has been started, NX contains a long list of sheet metal features that can be applied. As part of the course, we’ll review several flange types with options for length, angle, radius, and relief are all taught in detail and several details commands such as dimple, louver, cutouts, beads, gussets, punches and others. The advantage of designing in sheet metal is for the ability of flattening. The two methods of flattening to produce a 3D blank or a flat pattern are heavily discussed.
